Performing Arts

For all campers who enjoy putting on a show! This program uses our 500 seat theater to prepare for their performance. Campers get instruction in voice, dance, and acting.

There is no prerequisites needed for this camp. We take campers of all skill levels.

NOTE: Performing Arts requires a commitment of the first three weeks or the second three weeks. This commitment gives the campers the ability to put together their final show.

2017 Curriculum

This summer at Performing Arts camp we'll be taking you around the world! We'll be focusing on Theatre for Young Audiences and how different people from around the world experience Theatre in different ways.

What is Theatre for Young Audiences? Theatre for Young Audiences can often be mistaken for Theatre that involves fairy tales, puppetry or over-the-top, colorful characters. However, Theatre for Young Audiences is so much more than that. These pieces cover very real issues faced by children and families each day. They focus on every day life and every day situations. Yes, puppetry and the like have their place within Theatre for Young Audiences, but so do intricate, imaginative and multi-disciplinary pieces often found in Theatre for "Adults".

This summer we'll take our Performers around the world to Denmark, Africa and the Caribbean, Ireland, Japan, and India before we circle back to the United States. We'll be able to Skype with a Youth Theatre in Japan as well!

While we learn about different styles of performance, we will also hone our Acting, Singing and Dancing skills!

We look forward to seeing you at Performing Arts Camp!
